Job Title: Engineering Manager – Product Safety Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager – Product Safety Specialist to join our team at BAE Systems. As a key member of our Safety Team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of our products and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the production of the safety Build Assurance Justification
  • Review and assess the appropriateness of the Safety Argument and Safety Evidence provided by BAE
  • Liaise with the Barrow Safety Assurance Manager on any concessions where the Platform build differs from design intent
  • Act as the MOD technical liaison with Platform and Nuclear Propulsion build committees
  • Provide the safety interface with the propulsion/reactor/ships/weapons Test Groups

Requirements:

  • Demonstrate strong stakeholder management skillsets and experiences with senior board levels
  • Gain programme management experience
  • Previous experience in build assurance or maritime platforms of complex systems
  • Good experience of technical risk management/governance procedures
  • Hold a degree within a STEM subject

About the Role:

This role is part of the Joint Design Authority within the Dreadnought Alliance, which is the Platform & Whole Boat Design Authority for Dreadnought, structured around the Alliance Project Team engineering team and BAES Office of the Chief Engineer (OCE) team.
