Job Title: Engineering Manager - Product Safety Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join our team at BAE Systems (New) as a Product Safety Specialist. As a key member of our Safety Team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of our products and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the production of the safety Build Assurance Justification.
  • Review and ascertain the appropriateness of the Safety Argument and Safety Evidence provided by BAE and ensure that the platform is being built to design intent.
  • Liaise with the Barrow Safety Assurance Manager on any concessions where the Platform build differs from design intent.
  • Act as the MOD technical liaison with Platform and Nuclear Propulsion build committees.
  • Provide the safety interface with the propulsion/reactor/ships/weapons Test Groups.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrate strong stakeholder management skillsets and experiences with senior board levels.
  • Gain programme management experience.
  • Previous experience in build assurance or maritime platforms of complex systems.
  • Good experience of technical risk management/governance procedures.
  • Hold a degree within a STEM subject.
