We are working with a prestigious construction consultancy based in Northamptonshire who are seeking a senior quantity surveyor/commercial manager to join their team.

Job Description

The role is for a senior quantity surveyor/commercial manager who has experience running quantity surveying departments and has previously aided department growth.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quantity surveying, with experience in residential and commercial projects.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out quantity surveying tasks, including pre and post contract duties, take-offs, bills of quantities, cost planning, contracts, tender analysis, valuations, variation management, budget reporting, and final accounts.
  • Working with existing clients and focusing on business development to grow the department.
  • Providing project guidance and working with other departments to achieve project success.
  • Managing a QS team and training junior staff members.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A strong background in quantity surveying, with experience in residential and commercial projects.
  • At least five years' experience in a similar quantity surveying role.
  • Experience in all aspects of quantity surveying, including pre and post contract duties, take-offs, bills of quantities, cost planning, contracts, tender analysis, valuations, variation management, budget reporting, and final accounts.
  • Conversant in all major forms of contract.
  • Experience in using Microsoft Office.
  • A strong understanding of the construction industry and its trends.
