Senior Cost Controller

Wood Digital Consulting is seeking a highly skilled Senior Cost Controller to support our UK projects.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and reporting project cost budgets, tracking and managing project expenditure, and generating cost reports to ensure robust control of projects throughout their lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing project cost budgets and change estimates
- Preparing cost reports and tracking actual and forecasted costs
- Managing project budgets and actual costs
- Supporting the management and development of the Cost team
- Identifying areas of best practice and driving continuous improvement within the Cost team
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of cost management principles and techniques, including budgeting, forecasting, and cash-flow management. They will also have excellent knowledge of project execution procedures for cost management, including change management.
Additionally, the successful candidate will have prior experience in a senior cost role and a strong understanding of earned value application, cost and schedule variance analyses/trending, and what-if scenarios.
As a hybrid role, this position can be based anywhere in the UK, with mobility and travel to customer sites and face-to-face meetings with colleagues expected as required.
The successful candidate will be required to pass a HMG Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check.
Requirements:
- Typically requires ISCED level 6 (Bachelors) Degree in a relevant technical or business discipline (or equivalent gained through relevant vocational training and/or industry experience)
- Excellent knowledge of cost software and related principles, tools, and techniques
- Strong understanding of project management principles and techniques
- Prior experience in a senior cost role
