Application Qualifications:

  • Prior experience working with children with Special Educational Needs, especially those exhibiting challenging behaviours.
  • A solid understanding of behavioural management strategies and interventions.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, capable of establishing strong connections with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to assisting children with complex needs.
  • Relevant educational qualifications or certifications in Special Educational Needs (e.g., CACHE Level 3, NVQ Level 3) are advantageous but not mandatory.
  • An Enhanced DBS check or a willingness to obtain one.

Key Duties:

  • Deliver customized support to students facing behavioural challenges, aiding them in developing coping mechanisms and enhancing their social skills.
  • Collaborate closely with the classroom teacher and SENCO to execute individualized learning plans (ILPs) and behavioural strategies.
  • Cultivate a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere, encouraging respect, empathy, and resilience among students.
  • Track and document students' progress, providing regular updates to teachers, parents, and external professionals as necessary.
  • Assist with classroom activities, ensuring that all students are engaged and supported in their educational journey.
