Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to applied projects within the bioeconomy, working closely with other technical and non-technical staff to ensure the smooth running of the pilot plant and facilities.
  • Contribute to a series of industry-facing biorenewables-based projects, providing technical input into projects based upon the improvement of plant, microbial and bio-based waste materials.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the efficient delivery of work, managing consumable stock and equipment maintenance/servicing.
  • Develop and maintain detailed records of technical activities, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
  • Participate in on-the-job learning and development, with opportunities for training and professional growth.

Requirements

  • Experience of working in a laboratory environment, with a strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Good experience of carrying out relevant technical activities, such as scientific equipment set up, analysis and sample preparation.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage consumable stock and equipment maintenance/servicing.
  • Knowledge of biorefining, pre-processing, downstream processing and/or scale-up would be an advantage.
  • Ability to work proactively with colleagues in other work areas, with a willingness to learn, gain knowledge and acquire further relevant skills.
