Position Overview

A dedicated and compassionate Overnight Care Assistant is sought to provide support to a young individual with special needs. This role is essential in ensuring the well-being and safety of a 13-year-old boy who requires assistance due to a brain injury sustained at birth.

Working Hours

Flexible working hours are available, including:

  • Waking Night Shifts: Sunday to Thursday from 20:00 to 06:00
  • Daytime Shifts: Various options during mornings or evenings
  • Weekend Support: Friday and Saturday nights from 20:15 to 08:30

Specific hours can be discussed during the interview process.

Key Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of the Overnight Care Assistant include:

  • Assisting with personal care and hygiene needs
  • Facilitating therapeutic and recreational activities both at home and in the community
  • Supporting the individual in engaging with family life
Qualifications and Skills

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Proficiency in using technology for record-keeping and care planning, or a willingness to learn
  • A valid UK driving license
  • Experience working with young individuals with special needs
Professional Conduct

It is crucial for the Overnight Care Assistant to maintain clear professional boundaries and respect the family's values and parenting approach. Given the nature of this role, the assistant may occasionally become aware of sensitive family matters.
