Job Title: Outreach Worker

Prospero Teaching is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Outreach Worker to join our team.

The successful candidate will be required to work with young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health issues, providing support and guidance to help them access the mainstream curriculum.

The role involves taking attendance in the mornings, liaising with parents over absences, and providing support work in the community. The successful candidate will need to be comfortable liaising with social services and other parties to best support the young people.

The ideal candidate will be confident in behaviour management techniques and deescalation strategies, with a strong understanding of child development and a genuine passion for working with children.

Prospero Teaching offers the successful candidate:

  • Location: Preston
  • Position: Outreach Worker
  • School Hours: 09:00am-16:00pm
  • Type: Full-Time only
  • Minimum rate of pay: £100
  • Duration: Ongoing
  • Contract Type: Temporary

Key Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as an Outreach Worker or in a similar role
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents and staff
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children
  • Strong understanding of child development
  • Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable)

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child related references that cover the last two years
