Job Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Educator to join our team at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Clinical Educator, you will play a key role in identifying training needs, planning, implementing, and evaluating educational activities for students, new starters, and existing members of non-medical staff within your clinical area and the directorate.
You will be a role model for your colleagues, demonstrating exemplary care, challenging, recognizing, and inspiring others similarly. Your responsibilities will include bedside teaching, induction and orientation of new staff, study day organization and delivery, and recognition of staff learning requirements.
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual with excellent communication and leadership skills. You will need to be able to work effectively with learners to facilitate their independent learning, manage your own time to ensure a balance between clinical education and education administrative activities, and actively promote and contribute to an inter-professional learning environment.
Main Duties of the Job
- Act as an exemplary role model for best clinical practice and Trust values
- Work alongside learners to facilitate their independent learning
- Work to an agreed job plan to maximize education delivery to support staff and patient safety/experience
- Manage your own time to ensure a balance between clinical education and education administrative activities
- Actively promote and contribute to an inter-professional learning environment
- Deliver education programs at a divisional level and where required cross-divisionally in support of organizational priorities
- Work as part of the local and corporate practice development teams
- Assist in anticipating and addressing the educational needs of the service
- Work across boundaries to proactively develop and sustain partnerships
- Participate in audit, service improvement, and research projects relevant to the clinical educator role
