Framework Charity is a registered charity and registered provider of social housing, delivering housing, health, employment, and support services to people with diverse needs.
We have 70 services across Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, and Sheffield, supporting over 18,000 people each year and accommodating more than 1,300 people at any one time.
Board Member RoleThe Board of Framework Charity determines its vision and strategy, directing, controlling, and scrutinizing the charity's affairs.
The Board's essential functions include:
- Ensuring Framework Charity carries out its purposes for the public benefit.
- Setting and ensuring compliance with Framework's mission, strategic aims, corporate objectives, and values.
- Approving strategies, policies, and plans to secure the charity's long-term success.
- Setting a positive culture with a strong service user focus.
- Ensuring Framework operates effectively, efficiently, and economically.
- Monitoring Framework's performance in relation to the delivery of strategies and plans and the achievement of budgets.
- Providing oversight, direction, and constructive challenge to Framework's Chief Executive and Senior Leadership Team.
- The appointment and dismissal of the Chief Executive, along with the approval of the Chief Executive's initial salary, benefits, and terms of employment.
- Satisfying itself as to the integrity of financial information, approving each year's budget, long-term financial business plan, and statutory accounts.
- Establishing, overseeing, and reviewing a schedule of delegation and systems of internal control.
- Establishing and overseeing risk management processes to safeguard the assets and reputation of the organization.
- Ensuring Framework complies with its adopted governance code and includes, as necessary, an explanation of any non-compliance within its annual financial statements.
- The appointment and removal of the Chair.
We are keen to attract applicants from the areas where we work who share our values and ethos and are committed to helping make a difference to the life chances of the vulnerable people we support.
We are open to applicants from all walks of life, preferably with experience of board membership, and are particularly looking for people with expertise in Finance and Risk, and Housing and Supported Housing.
This is a voluntary role with full expenses reimbursed.
