About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Team Manager to join our Children in Care team at Buckinghamshire Council. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the overall supervision, support, and practice of staff meet statutory requirements and provide a safe and effective service.

About You

We are looking for a motivated and ambitious individual with a social work qualification, active HCPC/SWE registration, and a minimum of 3 years post-qualifying experience of working within a statutory environment with children. You will have demonstrable experience managing staff and a strong commitment to improving the lives of children and young people.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Team Manager to ensure overall supervision, support, and practice of staff meet statutory requirements and provide a safe and effective service.
  • Manage staff and provide guidance and support to ensure they meet their roles and responsibilities.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure the best possible outcomes for children and young people.
  • Work collaboratively with other teams and agencies to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to supporting children and young people.
