Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage import/export activities, including documentation, customs clearance, and transportation arrangements.
  • Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and customs requirements, staying updated on changes in regulations and implementing necessary adjustments.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and freight forwarders to plan and execute efficient import/export operations.
  • Maintain accurate records of shipments, including invoices, packing lists, and customs documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with customs authorities to resolve any issues or delays in clearance processes.
  • Monitor and track shipments to ensure on-time delivery, proactively addressing any potential delays or disruptions.
  • Provide support to retail partners regarding import/export requirements and logistics coordination.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and reduce costs in the import/export supply chain.
  • Handle inquiries and requests related to import/export activities from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of import/export policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and compliance.
  • Ensure exported products are restricted to relevant markets where necessary.
  • Accurate classification of goods using the Harmonised Tariff System.
  • Provide clear and concise Import Clearance Instructions to Carriers.
  • Undertake regular audits of supplementary declarations, ensuring 100% compliance with all customs formalities.
  • Preparation of information and reporting for management.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Proven experience working as an Import/Export Coordinator or similar role, preferably in the retail industry.
  • Knowledge of customs regulations and procedures, with experience in customs clearance processes.
  • Sound understanding of bonded warehouse customs procedures (desirable).
  • Strong understanding of international trade documentation, including commercial invoices, bills of lading, and certificates of origin.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in using import/export management software and MS Office applications.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and business needs.
  • Qualification in Customs/compliance (desirable).
