Job Overview

An exceptional opportunity has emerged to become part of a dynamic partnership dedicated to delivering comprehensive substance use treatment and recovery services. This initiative combines the strengths of multiple organizations, each bringing unique expertise to support individuals facing substance-related challenges.

Our Recovery First model is central to our mission, ensuring that lived experience and recovery are seamlessly integrated into our services. Residents will benefit from a highly localized approach, addressing a variety of issues throughout the community.

As a community-based Non-Medical Prescriber (NMP) or Pharmacist Prescriber, you will play a crucial role in empowering individuals to make positive changes in their lives. Your passion for helping others will be supported by a friendly, multidisciplinary team that values collaboration and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

In your role as a Non-Medical Prescriber (NMP) or Pharmacist Prescriber, you will engage in various interventions, including:

  • Opiate substitute treatment (OST)
  • Benzodiazepine reduction
  • Alcohol and opiate detoxification
  • Relapse prevention medication management

You will also conduct health care assessments, administer detoxification medications, and provide Blood Borne Virus (BBV) screening and vaccinations. Collaboration with mental health, physical health, and social care services will be essential in creating a holistic support system for clients.

Participation in local prescriber meetings and ongoing clinical supervision will enhance your professional development. Comprehensive training and support will be provided, allowing you to contribute to the delivery of high-quality services.

As part of our team, you will have access to resources that support your professional growth, including indemnity insurance and assistance with revalidation.

The Ideal Candidate

We are seeking a registered nurse or qualified pharmacist with independent prescriber status. You should be confident in managing prescribing for opiates and alcohol detoxifications.

Joining our established team, you will need to demonstrate excellent communication skills and organizational abilities. Your capacity to develop creative and flexible support packages tailored to individual needs will be vital in achieving positive outcomes.

We value individuals who are genuinely interested in helping others and possess a deep sense of empathy and understanding.
