Job Summary:

Polaris Community is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Residential Children's Services Team Lead to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for ensuring the needs of young people in our care are met and providing a positive and safe living experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Management: Manage and lead a team of Residential Support Workers to provide high-quality childcare and ensure the smooth operation of the home.
  • Safeguarding and Well-being: Ensure the safety and well-being of young people in our care, creating a homely environment that takes into account their views, wishes, and feelings.
  • Staff Supervision and Development: Deliver supervision to Residential Support Workers in accordance with company policy, supporting their development and growth within the role.
  • Compliance and Governance: Comply with company policies, procedures, and legislation, including safeguarding policies and procedures, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and company policies.
  • Multi-Agency Working: Support effective multi-agency working and positive relationships with local authorities, other professional agencies, and significant others who are part of a young person's life.
  • Code of Conduct and Confidentiality: Comply with and apply company guidelines on Codes of Conduct, setting an acceptable role model standard within the home and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Care Planning and Review: Assist in the development and delivery of care plans, supporting the reviewing and monitoring process, and promoting the participation of young people in decision-making.
  • Anti-Discriminatory Practices: Promote anti-discriminatory and equal opportunity practices in line with company policy.
  • Health and Safety: Comply with legislation and company policies on Health and Safety, Fire, and Data Protection.

Requirements:

  • Education and Qualifications: Good overall standard of education, working towards or holding a Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People's Workforce or equivalent.
  • Experience and Skills: Previous experience of working directly with young people with challenging behavior, good report writing and numeracy skills, and the ability to relate to young people with empathy.
  • Leadership and Management Potential: Strong motivational, management, and leadership potential, with the ability to supervise, support, and develop Residential Support Workers to create a cohesive team.
