Job Summary:

Headway is seeking a qualified and experienced Residential Childcare Support Worker to join our team on a casual basis. As a Residential Childcare Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care and support to young people with challenging behavior in a residential setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized care and support to young people, promoting their physical, emotional, and psychological well-being.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with young people, their families, and other professionals.
  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of individualized care plans, ensuring the needs of young people are met.
  • Participate in shift work, including sleep-ins, to provide 24-hour care and support.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of young people's progress, behavior, and any incidents.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a safe and supportive environment for young people.
  • Engage in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with young people with challenging behavior, preferably in a residential setting.
  • Qualification in Children and Young People's Workforce (QCF Level 3 or equivalent).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with young people, families, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Computer literacy and experience with record-keeping software.
  • Full manual driving license.
