About Our Team

AECOM's Nuclear Structures team provides multi-disciplinary consultancy to the nuclear industry in both the nuclear new build and decommissioning sectors. Our team is dedicated to delivering innovative solutions to complex challenges, and we're seeking a talented Graduate Civil-Structural Engineer to join our team.

Job Description

We're looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Graduate Civil-Structural Engineer to work on live projects, collaborating with experienced engineers and technicians to deliver high-quality designs and solutions. As a member of our team, you'll have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from structural design and analysis to project management and coordination.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare structural element designs in various materials, including steel and concrete
  • Undertake analysis of structures to ensure safety and compliance with regulations
  • Develop and maintain design documentation, including basis of design, design method statements, and specifications
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure effective communication and coordination
  • Develop an understanding of highly regulated industries and the importance of safety and compliance

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you'll need to have:

  • A BEng or MEng in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering
  • A 2:1 (or equivalent) degree classification or above
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications

We're looking for candidates with:

  • Work experience in the nuclear energy or related field
  • Familiarity with CAD and ArcGIS software
  • A driving license, with occasional travel to site required
