We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Operations Manager to join our team at Johnsons 1871 Ltd. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our warehouse, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities- Organize and manage the warehouse, ensuring a safe and tidy working environment
- Operate and maintain forklifts, performing daily checks to ensure they are in good working order
- Maintain accurate records of inventory, including stock levels and movements
- Collate and report on daily defects, ensuring that any issues are addressed promptly
- Issue personal protective equipment (PPE) and uniforms to staff, and register items as required
- Conduct daily equipment checks, ensuring that all machinery is in good working order
- Ensure that vehicles are delivered for service in line with bookings
- Lead on health and safety in the warehouse and surrounding work area, promoting a safe working environment for all staff
- Assist with site housekeeping, ensuring that the warehouse is kept clean and tidy
- Deal with deliveries to the site, ensuring that all goods are received and stored correctly
- Act as a driver porter as and when required by the business
- Complete packing material stock takes
- Update equipment service planner
- Oversee the booking of plant and equipment inspections
- Monitor the return of vehicle and equipment service sheets
- Complete weekly workplace inspections
- Sign off corrective actions on defect sheets
- Complete checks for hazards and correct issues
- Complete packing comparison checks
- Complete AED checks
- Manage waste on site
- Ensure tyre inspections are being completed
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Experience as a warehouse operative or foreman
- Fork Lift Truck licence (Counterbalance & Reach truck)
- Expertise in warehouse management procedures and best practices
- Proven ability to implement process improvements
- Strong organisational skills
- Leadership skills and ability to manage staff
- Strong decision making and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Qualification in logistics, supply chain management (desirable)
- Driving Licence (essential)
- Containerised Storage Experience (preferred)
The role may involve some travel nationwide and may involve overnight stays.
