Job Title: Study Skills Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Study Skills Support Specialist to join our team at Randstad Student & Worker Support. As a Study Skills Support Specialist, you will work closely with students who have specific learning difficulties (SpLDs) to provide personalized academic support and guidance.

About the Role:

This is a hybrid role that requires flexibility to work with students in person and online. You will be responsible for developing customized learning plans to meet the specific needs of each student, fostering their independence in learning. Your role will involve:

  • Providing one-to-one support to students with SpLDs
  • Developing and implementing personalized learning plans
  • Supporting students to develop independence, build on strengths, and create strategies for organization and time management
  • Assisting students in creating action plans to stay on track with their studies
  • Helping students to develop research skills and widen their knowledge using various sources
  • Supporting students to distinguish between appropriate sources and correctly use references
  • Assisting students to improve their comprehension skills in reading and writing
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you must hold membership with one of the following professional bodies:

  • British Dyslexia Association (BDA)
  • Professional Membership The Association of Dyslexia (ADSHE)
  • Dyslexia Guild
  • The Professional Association of Teachers of Students with Specific Learning Difficulties (PATOSS)
Desirable Skills:

We are looking for individuals with the following skills and experience:

  • Experience of working with clients with specific learning difficulties
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to identify ways of helping students to build on their learning strengths while maintaining a confidential and professional working relationship
  • Punctuality and reliability
  • Good organizational skills
  • Ability to manage a caseload of students
