Job Title: Study Skills and Strategy Support Specialist

Randstad Student Support is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Study Skills and Strategy Support Specialist to join our team. As a Specialist-one-to-one Study Skills Support Worker, you will work with autistic students studying at Universities and/or Colleges in Manchester, providing tailored support to help them achieve their academic goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement individualized study skills plans to support students in developing independence, building on strengths and learning strategies, and creating strategies around organization and time management.
  • Provide one-to-one support to students, helping them to create action plans to stay on track with their studies, distinguish appropriate sources, and correctly use references.
  • Work collaboratively with students to build on comprehension skills within reading and writing.
Requirements:
  • Qualified to undergraduate degree level (level 6 as minimum) and hold a teaching qualification.
  • Extensive training in adult autism, including 6 National Autistic Society Modules (non-medical helper package) or The Optimum Training Course: Autism and ADHD in Higher Education: Recognising and addressing the barriers through Non-Medical Helper (NMH) Mentoring and Study Skills Strategies.
Desirable Skills:
  • Experience of working with autistic clients.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to identify ways of helping students to build on their learning strengths while maintaining a confidential and professional working relationship.
