Job Title: Area Supervisor

We are seeking an experienced Area Supervisor to oversee operations across multiple waste sites in Leicestershire. This hands-on supervisory role is essential for maintaining high standards in waste management and requires a candidate with HR experience and the ability to manage site staff effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Travel to waste sites daily to perform HR-related tasks, including onboarding new starters, conducting one-to-ones, and handling low-level policy discussions.
  • Deliver training through workbooks, e-learning, toolbox talks, and other training packages/safety briefings.
  • Monitor and enforce safe systems of work and risk assessments for all site operations.
  • Ensure accurate records for waste movements and adherence to the Council's Quality Management System.
  • Issue, monitor, and record PPE and uniforms to staff.
  • Drive a Council 3.5-tonne box van as required.
  • Handle low-level complaints from customers face-to-face, by telephone, and by email.
Requirements:
  • Good IT, interpersonal, numeracy, and literacy skills.
  • Experience dealing with customers and line managing multiple staff.
  • Experience delivering training packages.
  • Valid UK driver's licence for driving up to a 3.5-tonne vehicle, access to own vehicle, and insurance to cover business use.
