Senior Clinical Technologist

The Senior Clinical Technologist will be responsible for providing a maintenance, repair, and support service for a wide range of medical devices, including highly complex and patient-critical equipment, located in various clinical settings across the organisation.
Main Responsibilities- Plan and prioritise non-routine breakdown requests, and deal with emergencies arising with equipment.
- Perform commissioning and acceptance tests on newly purchased and loan equipment.
- Maintain and repair a range of highly complex, patient-critical medical equipment located throughout the organisation.
- Participate in and contribute to the MEMS Quality Management System, adhering to policies and processes at all times.
- Work according to Health Board and Departmental policies and procedures, and work with autonomy within the post holder's assigned duties, making decisions within the scope of their competence.
- Actively contribute to planning of service developments within MEMS, in conjunction with senior staff, and actively contribute to and support the development of changes in MEMS quality system that will have a specific impact in their own area of competency but also generally within MEMS.
- Provide assistance with the development of changes to Health and Safety Policies that will have an impact particularly in their own area of responsibility but also generally within MEMS.
The Senior Clinical Technologist will be based at Singleton, where the major part of the duties will be delivered, but will be expected to work in other parts of the Health Board as required. Morriston and Neath Port Talbot MEMS departments as needed.
Requirements- Achieved Grade or qualification required for the role.
- Contemporary knowledge of analog and digital electronics and associated fault finding techniques.
- Member of the National Register of Clinical Technologists (RCT/AHCS), or can demonstrate working towards registration.
- Sound grasp of Medical Device Management guidance.
- Sound grasp of the use of Quality Systems (ISO 9001:2015).
