Job Title: Aerodynamic Development Engineer

At McLaren, our mission is to push the boundaries of high-performance innovation. We're seeking a talented Aerodynamic Development Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of cutting-edge CFD tools.

Job Summary:

This is a junior role in our CFD Methodology group, reporting to the Lead, CFD Project Leader. You'll collaborate with other teams to drive the development of CFD tools and work closely with the HPC, Software, and Analysis teams to ensure seamless integration.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop a deep understanding of CFD methodology and performance, including HPC hardware, software, and novel numerical methods.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of a large codebase and develop a high level of understanding of aerodynamic performance development.
  • Liaise effectively with the HPC, Software, and Development/Analysis teams to deliver targeted CFD methodology support.
Requirements:
  • Strong mathematical background, particularly in linear algebra, partial differential equations, and Finite volume/element/high order numerical methods.
  • Experience in using simulations tools/packages in industrial applications.
  • Strong coding skills in object-oriented programming languages (C++, Python, or others) and version control systems.
