**Job Summary**

McLaren F1 Team is seeking a highly skilled CFD R&D Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our CFD Methodology group, you will play a critical role in driving the development of our CFD tools and methodologies.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Collaborate with our CFD Methodology, HPC, Software, Analysis, and Aero Development teams to drive the development of our CFD tools and methodologies.
  • Manage and deliver improvements to our CFD methodology and workflows, working closely with our project leaders to achieve targets.
  • Perform related CFD R&D activities, including supporting our Aerodynamic Development and HPC teams.
  • Develop a high level of understanding of the factors influencing CFD methodology and performance, including HPC hardware, software, numerical methods, and correlation.
  • Take ownership of our large codebase and contribute to its maintenance.
  • Develop a deep understanding of aerodynamic performance development and how CFD contributions can be used to improve car performance.

**Requirements**

  • Strong mathematical background, particularly in linear algebra, partial differential equations, and Finite volume/element/high order numerical methods.
  • Experience in CFD within the context of Aerodynamic development, or experience with data analysis frameworks.
  • Experience in using simulation tools and packages in industrial applications.
  • Strong coding skills in object-oriented programming languages, such as C++, Python, or others, as well as version control systems.
  • Experience in planning and organizing technical projects to achieve pre-agreed targets, working collaboratively with other team members.
