The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who thrives in both independent and team-oriented environments. Proficiency in audio transcription, particularly with intricate digital dictation, is essential.

Candidates should possess a minimum of GCSE English Language at Grade C or above, or an equivalent qualification. Additionally, a recognized typing qualification at RSA II standard (or equivalent) is required, along with prior clerical or administrative experience, ideally within a healthcare or customer service context.

Key Responsibilities

  • Transcribing outpatient clinic notes, discharge summaries, and various administrative correspondence.
  • Managing dictation and appointment scheduling.
  • Performing filing, photocopying, and other administrative duties as required.
  • Providing typing and administrative assistance to the medical secretariat as needed.
  • Addressing routine internal telephone inquiries.
  • Handling confidential matters with professionalism and sensitivity.

Qualifications and Experience Required

Essential

  • GCSE Maths and English at grade C or above, or equivalent.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent keyboard proficiency.

Desirable

  • Administrative qualification equivalent to NVQ Level 3 or relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in word processing - RSA II (or equivalent).
  • Typing skills - RSA II (or equivalent).

Experience and Knowledge

Essential

  • Prior clerical or administrative experience.
  • Experience in a customer-focused environment.
  • Familiarity with various IT applications, including Microsoft Office.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of office procedures and applications.
  • Understanding of medical terminology.
