Job Title: Finance Operations Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Finance Operations Specialist to join our team at Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for preparing and processing accounting and payment transactions in accordance with established requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transaction Processing: Coordinate daily processing of end customer payment transactions, manufacturer invoicing, commission calculations, reconciliations, and queries within agreed timescales.
  • Commission Management: Assist with calculating, reconciling, and paying commission to the retailer network, and review commission payments to check for accuracy in calculations and correct errors.
  • Manufacturing Support: Validate manufacturer-supported items, reconcile and invoice manufacturers-supported programs, and identify, track, and resolve queries on the ledgers.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly journals for posting on the general ledger system, and ensure aged items are worked appropriately in a timely manner.
  • Process Improvement: Involvement in ad-hoc projects to assist in implementing efficiencies and new processes, and provide support to the wider accounting team as and when required.
  • Control Framework: Imbed BNP control framework and policies in all tasks, and ensure all processes are kept updated and documented.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Previous experience in finance is essential, with a strong background in accounting and payment transactions.
  • Skills: Highly skilled in MS Office, specifically Excel and PowerPoint, and knowledge of the financial industry is essential.
  • Qualifications: Part-qualified accountant or equivalent experience in a similar role.
