About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional Head of Fundraising and Development to join our team at Earl Mountbatten Hospice. As a key member of our senior leadership team, you will play a critical role in driving our fundraising strategy and securing the resources needed to deliver our mission.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Fundraising Strategy
    • Design and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy that aligns with the hospice's goals and objectives
    • Identify and pursue new fundraising opportunities, including major gifts, corporate partnerships, and events
  • Lead and Manage Fundraising Team
    • Oversee a team of fundraising professionals, providing guidance, support, and coaching to ensure they have the skills and resources needed to succeed
    • Develop and implement training programs to enhance team members' fundraising skills and knowledge
  • Build and Maintain Relationships
    • Establish and maintain strong relationships with major donors, corporate partners, and other key stakeholders
    • Identify and pursue new relationships that can help drive fundraising growth
  • Manage Budget and Resources
    • Develop and manage the fundraising budget, ensuring effective use of resources and maximizing returns
    • Monitor and report on fundraising performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed
Requirements
  • Experience and Qualifications
    • Proven track record of success in fundraising, with a strong understanding of charity fundraising principles and practices
    • Experience in leading and managing fundraising teams, with a focus on staff development and performance
  • Skills and Knowledge
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with donors, stakeholders, and team members
    • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions
    • Experience with fundraising databases and software, with a focus on data management and analysis
