Role Purpose

The primary aim of this role is to deliver effective maintenance support for Colas Rail Freight vehicles while enhancing a diverse set of engineering skills and competencies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform scheduled maintenance tasks at the main depot.
  • Execute both electrical and mechanical repairs on locomotives and rolling stock.
  • Maintain the knowledge necessary for safe and effective operations within a railway setting.
  • Understand industry standards, practices, and governance thoroughly.
  • Follow directives from the Team Leader and Production Manager.
  • Adhere to all relevant company policies, including Method of Work and Risk Assessments.
  • Ensure maintenance documentation is accurate, clear, and comprehensible.
  • Uphold high cleanliness standards at the depot and assist with site maintenance and improvements as required.
Candidate Profile
  • NVQ level 2 in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Possession of a Full UK Driving Licence.
