Catering Equipment Service Technician

Location: London (Home based) - Westminster / Knightsbridge area

Salary: Up to £48k+ negotiable based on experience + comprehensive benefits + vehicle provided

Our client, a prominent player in the catering infrastructure solutions sector with over 30 years of experience, is seeking a dedicated Catering Equipment Service Technician to join their esteemed technical support team. This role is pivotal to their ongoing success and strategic growth initiatives.

Role Overview:

The ideal candidate will be situated in the Westminster / Central London area and will report directly to the Service Manager. The position involves a rotation where one week out of four will be spent in a prestigious client environment. The successful technician will participate in training programs and collaborate with a skilled team to perform Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), troubleshoot breakdowns, and conduct contract service maintenance on a diverse array of catering equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Respond promptly to technical support inquiries and execute necessary PPM checks to ensure all catering equipment is operational and compliant.
  2. Engage with on-site catering personnel at various levels to prioritize and resolve equipment breakdowns, including decommissioning and installing replacement units as necessary.
  3. Instruct customer staff on the safe operation, maintenance, and cleaning of all equipment, while addressing any issues of misuse or neglect.
  4. Maintain current knowledge of all catering equipment within the hire fleet and understand the criticality of each item to business operations.
  5. Complete service documentation accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring your work vehicle is well-maintained and ready for service.
  6. Support site and project-related activities both domestically and internationally as required.
  7. Assist the Technical Support Department as needed.

Candidate Requirements:

To be considered for this outstanding opportunity, candidates must possess a full UK driving license and have a minimum of two years' experience applying mechanical and electrical knowledge in a professional setting. Strong communication and customer service skills are essential.

Upon completion of training, candidates will have the opportunity to achieve qualifications including CCCN1 (or CCN1 and COCATA1), COMCAT1, COMCAT3, COMCAT5, CONGLP1 PD, F-gas, and C&G 18th Edition and Test and Inspection electrical qualifications.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent fault-finding and repair capabilities, alongside strong written and verbal communication skills, enabling them to convey technical information effectively to non-technical audiences. A well-organized and self-motivated approach is crucial to ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction.
