- Collaborate with the onsite General Manager and Senior Leadership team, offering coaching and mentorship as necessary.
- Facilitate training to support individual and team development objectives.
- Identify opportunities for management development and assist in performance review processes.
- Promote a culture of performance and cost-awareness by utilizing data insights to identify continuous improvement opportunities.
- Monitor and assess people-related KPIs against established targets, focusing on absence management and service levels linked to engagement.
- Develop a recruitment strategy that aligns with site resource planning, coordinating with external agencies and the central team as needed.
- Ensure a comprehensive onboarding experience for new colleagues, providing essential information regarding rewards, benefits, policies, health and safety, and compliance.
- Create and implement local communication strategies to ensure business consistency and colleague engagement.
- Assist the Senior Leadership team in executing colleague engagement action plans (annual engagement survey, joint consultation committee, health and safety committee).
- Chair and participate in local joint consultation committee meetings, collaborating with the onsite trade union.
- Provide specialized support for complex employee relations issues (performance, grievance, and disciplinary matters) when necessary.
- Relevant CIPD qualification or progress towards it, with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Solid understanding of employee relations with applicable HR operational experience.
- Familiarity with best practice HR interventions and experience advising managers on employment law matters.
- Proven experience in delivering effective resourcing solutions in a fast-paced retail or distribution environment.
- Ability to understand business priorities while balancing them with the people agenda.
- Demonstrated leadership experience and the significance of teamwork.
- Expertise in performance management and development.
