About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our team at MDE Group UK, specializing in the delivery of utility-scale photovoltaic solar projects across the UK.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a high-performing team, fostering a positive work environment and promoting a culture of excellence.
  • Define Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and scope of work for Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) firms, and participate in subcontractor selection and negotiations.
  • Evaluate potential solar sites and assist in due diligence, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Act as the Project Manager for EPC on PV solar projects, overseeing design reviews, change management, and permitting.
  • Monitor construction progress, adjust schedules, and address issues in a timely and effective manner.
  • Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure contract compliance and deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Manage project documentation, quality control, and internal/external reporting, maintaining accurate records and ensuring transparency.
  • Support the development of policies, procedures, and safety management systems, promoting a culture of safety and well-being.
  • Build and maintain relationships with subcontractors, utilities, and clients, fostering a collaborative and mutually beneficial environment.
Requirements
  • 6-8 years' experience in project management, particularly in EPC construction, with a proven track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Project, and Primavera P6, with the ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Willingness to travel and a clean UK driving license, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to meet business objectives, manage budgets, and handle change orders, with a focus on delivering results and exceeding expectations.
Desirable Criteria
  • PMP certification or an undergraduate degree in a relevant field, such as engineering or business administration.
  • Experience in Electrical Engineering and leadership skills, with a proven track record of leading high-performing teams.
