Contract Negotiator

Key Responsibilities:
Increase your chances of success in this role by understanding the following overview:
- Develop, Draft, and Negotiate Contracts: Create, review, and finalize contracts and agreements for nuclear projects, including procurement, construction, maintenance, and services contracts. Ensure that all contracts align with project objectives and organizational policies.
- Contract Administration: Oversee the administration of contracts throughout their lifecycle, from initial development to closure. Manage contract amendments, extensions, renewals, and terminations. Ensure all parties meet their contractual obligations.
- Risk Management: Identify and assess risks associated with contracts, including financial, legal, and regulatory risks. Ensure contracts comply with nuclear industry regulations, company policies, and legal requirements.
- Supplier Management: Establish and maintain effective relationships with suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors. Monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions. Address any disputes or issues that arise during contract execution.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with project managers, engineers, legal teams, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment between contract terms and project requirements. Provide guidance on contract-related matters and support project delivery teams in achieving project goals.
- Contract Record-Keeping: Maintain comprehensive records of all contract-related documents and correspondence. Prepare reports on contract status, performance, and compliance for management and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Law, Engineering, or a related field. A master's degree or specialized training in contract management, project management, or nuclear engineering is a plus.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in contract management, preferably within the nuclear industry or a similarly regulated environment (e.g., energy, oil and gas, construction). Experience managing contracts for large-scale, complex projects is highly desirable.
- Contract Knowledge: Strong understanding of contract law, commercial terms, and legal principles.
- Nuclear Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with nuclear industry standards, regulations, and compliance requirements (e.g., NRC, DOE, IAEA).
- Contract Management Skills: Proficiency in contract management software and tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Ariba, ContractWorks).
