About the Role

NFU Mutual is seeking an experienced Engineering Insurance Underwriter to join their team on a 12-month fixed-term contract basis. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the company's engineering insurance strategy, developing underwriting rules, and managing insurance risk.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement underwriting strategies for engineering insurance offerings
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including propositions and underwriting teams
  • Collaborate with data analysts to identify opportunities for improving underwriting strategy and risk management
  • Review and provide expert judgment on risk rates to ensure accurate and informed decision-making
About You

We are looking for a professional with a wealth of underwriting or broker experience in engineering breakdown insurance. You will have strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to establish and maintain impactful working relationships.

Key skills and qualifications include:

  • ACII qualification or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge of the engineering insurance market and its performance factors
  • Negotiation and influencing skills, with experience collaborating with stakeholders
  • Effective communication style and ability to present information to different audiences
  • High level of data literacy and ability to translate data into actionable insights
