NFU Mutual's Underwriting Department is excited to present an opportunity for a seasoned professional to step into the role of an Engineering Insurance Underwriter. This position is designed to support our strategic growth initiatives. There is potential for this role to transition into a permanent position for the right individual.

As an Engineering Insurance Underwriter, your responsibilities will include formulating and refining the underwriting strategy for our Engineering Insurance products. You will establish relevant guidelines, terms, and risk parameters that facilitate the achievement of profitability and growth objectives while managing insurance risks in accordance with our overarching underwriting strategy.
You will collaborate with our Propositions team and other essential stakeholders to define growth targets and clarify our risk appetite. Key responsibilities will encompass:

Candidate Profile
We are looking for a professional with extensive experience in Underwriting or Brokerage within Engineering Breakdown Insurance. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to build and maintain impactful professional relationships. A proactive mindset and a commitment to continuous improvement are essential.
Additionally, we seek candidates who demonstrate:
Experience in a head office environment, showcasing strategic thinking and effective project management capabilities. In-depth knowledge of the Engineering Insurance sector and a solid understanding of the factors influencing its performance. Strong negotiation skills, influencing capabilities, and extensive experience collaborating with diverse stakeholders. An effective communication style, with the ability to present information to various audiences. High data literacy, with the ability to convert data into actionable insights.An ACII qualification would be advantageous but is not a mandatory requirement for this role.
