As a Student Support Associate, you will play a vital role in our client's pastoral care program, ensuring that every student feels supported and nurtured throughout their educational journey. You will work closely with our dynamic team, under the guidance of the Assistant Head of Teaching and Learning for Inclusion and SEND, to develop and implement strategies that promote student well-being, open communication, and academic progression.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Support Frameworks: Create and implement frameworks that support student well-being and academic achievement, ensuring that every student feels valued and supported.
  • Collaborate with Educational Professionals: Work closely with teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to implement effective support strategies that meet the needs of our students.
  • Monitor and Evaluate Support Programs: Regularly monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of our support programs to ensure that they meet the needs of our students and align with our organisational objectives.
  • Facilitate Student Support Sessions: Facilitate drop-in sessions for students to discuss their concerns and achievements in a supportive and non-judgmental environment.
  • Lead Progress Meetings: Organise and lead progress meetings to provide students with personalised feedback and guidance, helping them to set and achieve their academic goals.
  • Build Trust and Fostering a Sense of Community: Engage actively with students to build trust and foster a sense of community within our online platform, ensuring that every student feels connected and supported.
Requirements
  • Previous Experience in Education: Previous experience working with students or in an educational setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, teachers, and other educational professionals.
  • Mentoring and Coaching Experience: Experience in mentoring or coaching young people, with a strong understanding of the importance of building trust and rapport.
  • Adaptability and Flexibility: Ability to adapt to the needs of diverse students, with a flexible and patient approach to supporting individuals with varying needs.
  • Commitment to Inclusive Practice: A strong commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment, with a deep understanding of the importance of promoting equality and diversity.
  • Relevant Qualifications: Relevant qualifications, such as a degree in Education, Psychology, or a related field, are highly desirable.
  • Enhanced DBS Check: An enhanced DBS check or the willingness to obtain one is required for this role.
