Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Buyer to enhance our Headquarters operations. The successful candidate will oversee the procurement of raw materials essential for SEWS-E's manufacturing processes. This role involves managing multiple suppliers to ensure that all purchasing needs are met efficiently, facilitating timely delivery of materials to our manufacturing facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage various automotive commodities within a global supply chain, encompassing both direct and indirect purchases.
  • Identify and assess potential alternative suppliers to mitigate business risks.
  • Evaluate proposals, recommend suppliers, and negotiate terms related to pricing, delivery, quality, and service.
  • Ensure follow-through on awarded contracts until order fulfillment.
  • Negotiate resolutions with suppliers regarding material rejections, losses, and returns as necessary.
  • Aim for continuous year-on-year cost reductions.
  • Review and process purchase requisitions to ensure compliance with relevant standards, assisting accounting in resolving invoice discrepancies.
  • Lead purchasing initiatives for projects, including mass production and developmental parts.
  • Act as the purchasing liaison among project engineering, sales, and manufacturing teams.
  • Participate as a member of the project team, reporting to the Platform Manager on all project-related activities.
  • Prepare quarterly reports on project outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Experience within the automotive industry.
  • Familiarity with plastic and rubber components.
  • Technical knowledge relevant to goods, ideally within warehouse industries.
  • Understanding of manufacturing constraints.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
