Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Buyer to take on a pivotal role at our Headquarters. This position involves managing the procurement of raw materials essential for SEWS-E's manufacturing processes. The Buyer will oversee multiple suppliers, ensuring that all purchasing needs are fulfilled to facilitate timely material delivery to our manufacturing sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage various automotive commodities across a global supply chain, including both direct and indirect purchases.
  • Identify and assess potential alternative suppliers to mitigate business risks.
  • Evaluate supplier bids, recommend selections, and negotiate terms related to pricing, delivery, quality, and service.
  • Monitor the procurement process from award to order completion.
  • Negotiate settlements with suppliers regarding material rejections, losses, and returns when necessary.
  • Aim for year-on-year cost reductions through strategic sourcing.
  • Review and process purchase requisitions to ensure compliance with established requirements, assisting accounting in resolving invoice discrepancies.
  • Lead purchasing activities for projects, including mass production and development parts.
  • Act as the purchasing liaison among project engineering, sales, and manufacturing teams.
  • Contribute to project teams, reporting to the Platform Manager on all related activities, including quarterly performance reports.

Qualifications

  • Experience in the automotive industry.
  • Familiarity with plastic and rubber components.
  • Technical knowledge relevant to goods, preferably in the W/H industries.
  • Understanding of manufacturing constraints.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
