Key Responsibilities:

  • Source and approve new suppliers to ensure the best possible quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Develop and implement effective procurement strategies and preferred partner relationships to drive business growth.
  • Collaborate with Engineering leads and Cost Estimation to agree on cost targets and delivery of these targets through the project process.
  • Compile and deliver annual budgets to ensure accurate financial planning.
  • Focus on Cost Management and improved levels of transparency to leverage costs and drive business efficiency.
  • Set objectives for QDCR (quality, delivery, cost, risk) performance reviews to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Ensure sufficient installed capacity within the supply chain to achieve the 5-year plan volumes.
  • Manage escalations from Supply Chain, including root cause analysis and ensuring continuity of supply.
  • Manage and develop direct reports through conducting appraisals and performance reviews, internal/external development, leadership, and support.
  • Utilize Supplier Dashboard data and information to make recommendations in relation to supplier selection and improvement.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent commercial acumen and analytical skills.
  • CIPS qualified or part-qualified and willing to study.
  • Engineering or design understanding is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills for managing multiple tasks, maintaining accurate records, and prioritizing workload efficiently.
  • Proficiency in computer skills and familiarity with Google Suite is an advantage.
