Job Title: Director of Strategic Projects

King's College London is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Strategic Projects to join our Faculty of Life Sciences and Medicine. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in leading projects of strategic importance to the faculty, working closely with the Executive Dean and Director of Operations.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a minimum level 6 qualification in a relevant subject, plus substantial work experience in relevant posts with management responsibilities. Alternatively, they will have extensive work experience in relevant operational and strategic management posts with progression to increasingly demanding jobs with management responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead projects of strategic importance to the faculty, working closely with the Executive Dean and Director of Operations.
  • Co-ordinate a portfolio of actions and activities on behalf of the faculty leadership.
  • Work across a wide range of stakeholders at all levels, including Faculty senior academic leadership and professional service leads.
  • Use influencing, analytical, problem-solving and communication skills to ensure engagement with the faculty's strategic agenda and deliver successful outcomes.
Requirements
  • Minimum level 6 qualification in a relevant subject.
  • Substantial work experience in relevant posts with management responsibilities.
  • Experience of working in, and detailed understanding of, the university sector (or a similarly large, complex, and collaborative organisation).
  • Ability to collect and synthesise complex data from a variety of sources to develop new insights and perspectives.
  • Confident working within matrix management structures.
