Senior Category Buyer

At iD Mobile Limited, we're seeking a seasoned Senior Buyer to join our commercial team. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for managing high-turnover, complex categories, leading a team of direct reports, and developing strong relationships with our supplier partners.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage all category supplier relationships in line with our commercial supplier strategy and category strategy.
- Develop credible relationships with suppliers and create a sourcing strategy to bring customers the best ranges while minimizing our NET cost of goods.
- Work with suppliers to understand the future technology roadmap, enabling the category to plan ahead for changes in customer trends and demand.
- Negotiate product ranges, cost pricing, additional terms, exclusivity, distribution, and stock availability.
- Negotiate fixed and variable financial terms related to ranging, activity, and performance to maximize EBIT across the category.
- Pricing the product range in line with agreed category CPI targets.
- Work with merchandising to ensure accurate forecasting to maximize sales and stock turn.
- Provide and regularly review team members' objectives, priorities, and performance via Personal Development Review and one-to-ones, supporting their professional and personal development.
- Joint ownership of trading the SIM Free category through all relevant channels, writing the trading strategy, building and delivering sales, margin, and market share budgets.
- Substantial buying experience in a fast-paced FMCG/Fashion or Hard Goods retailer.
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to manage supplier partnerships at differing levels of seniority.
- Customer champion with excellent commercial awareness and understanding of customer needs.
- Working knowledge of SharePoint, Teams, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Management/leadership experience of more than 1 direct report.
