Job Title: Senior Buyer - Hampers Category Lead

Fortnum & Mason is seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to lead the Hampers category, driving sales and profit growth through strategic buying and product development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver the strategic vision for the Hampers category across all channels.
  • Drive sales and profit through analysis of sales and stock performance, working closely with the Merchandising team.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify market trends and opportunities, and develop innovative product ranges.
  • Manage key supplier relationships, negotiating complex business terms and agreements.
  • Lead the negotiation of pricing strategies with multiple suppliers, influencing cross-category teams in key supplier negotiations.
  • Develop and agree sales and margin budgets with stakeholders to maximize sales and profit.
  • Input to sales and stock planning and forecasting cycle, ensuring accurate forecasting and inventory management.
  • Actively trade product areas, liaising with all relevant stakeholders to drive sales and profit growth.
Requirements:
  • 7-10 years' experience in a Buying role, preferably in a luxury retail environment or within the Hamper/gift box sector.
  • Commercial understanding and ability to drive sales and profit growth.
  • Proven experience in product development, incorporating understanding of future trends to create and curate innovative ranges.
  • Demonstrable negotiation and influencing skills, with ability to lead and coach a high-performing buying team.
  • Ability to operate at a Senior level, deputizing for the Director of Buying as required.
