Job Summary

The Medical Records Clerk will be responsible for providing an essential support service in the continuing care of patients, ensuring that the case notes are at the right place at the right time.

The post holder will cover all aspects of the role including, the pulling, filing, pruning, destruction, preparation, amalgamation, and secure transportation of case notes.

Main Responsibilities

Key responsibilities of the Medical Records Clerk include:

  • Providing accurate and timely retrieval of patient records
  • Filing and maintaining accurate and up-to-date records
  • Ensuring the security and confidentiality of patient information
  • Preparing and transporting case notes as required
  • Collaborating with healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient care

About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong organizational and communication skills. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team to ensure the smooth operation of the Medical Records Department.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • GCSE Maths and English Grade C or above
  • Previous customer service experience
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

It is desirable for the successful candidate to have:

  • IT-related qualification or equivalent experience
  • Experience working within the Medical Records Department
  • Welsh language skills
