We are pleased to announce a fantastic opportunity for a qualified Genetic Heritage Coordinator to become part of the Cardiff and Vale University Health Board team. This role is a permanent, full-time position.
The salary range starts at £25,524, reaching up to £28,010. New hires typically begin at the initial pay scale, with the expectation that all employees will meet performance standards to progress in their pay scale over time.

Key Responsibilities
The Genetic Heritage Coordinator will serve as the primary contact for the service, offering information and managing referrals for Genetic Counsellors, Specialist Nurses, and physicians. This role involves updating and maintaining the patient information database and creating family history pedigrees.
The Cardiff and Vale University Health Board provides a comprehensive and equitable service to the community, focusing on identifying, referring, and managing patients with a family history of cancer and other genetic disorders. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing patient referrals by constructing family history pedigrees according to established protocols and verifying cancer diagnoses through appropriate patient record retrieval.
Candidates must demonstrate exceptional communication and IT skills, along with a commitment to delivering high-quality patient services; they should be adaptable and diligent in achieving service goals.
The Directorate promotes personal growth, and you will be expected to actively engage in the KSF process. This specialty is both dynamic and demanding, and you will join a supportive and dedicated team in Medical Genetics.
Proficiency in Welsh is preferred for this position; applications are welcome from both Welsh and English speakers.
