As a Therapeutic Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in transforming the lives of individuals facing persistent mental health challenges, complex needs, and intricate addiction issues.

Your working hours will total 37.5 per week, spanning Monday to Sunday, with some shifts potentially including evenings.

Under the guidance of an Occupational Therapist, your responsibilities will include facilitating structured activities and aiding in the development of both individual and group therapeutic interventions. You will foster one-on-one relationships with service users to promote engagement in activities and support their recovery journey.

In your role, you will assist in the assessment, monitoring, evaluation, and adjustment of structured activities to track progress and ensure their effectiveness.

As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will receive regional support and have access to a variety of training and online courses to enhance your professional development.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating with Occupational Therapists, Nurses, and other multidisciplinary team members in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of personalized care plans.
  • Empowering service users to reach their objectives and connect with suitable services.
  • Maintaining accurate records and documenting information in service user healthcare files.

To excel in this position, you will need:

  • GCSE/O-Levels (A-C) or a relevant NVQ2 qualification.
  • Experience in a similar setting, particularly in Mental Health.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • A valid UK Driving Licence.

Work Environment:

You will be part of a rehabilitation service dedicated to supporting individuals with enduring mental health conditions, complex needs, and challenging addiction issues. The team collaborates closely with service users, assisting them in their therapeutic programs, developing coping strategies, and enhancing their life skills.

The primary goal is to minimize the duration of stay by planning for discharge from the outset. Open communication with families and support networks is encouraged by a skilled and values-driven staff team.
