Job Overview

Main Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively with the Named Nurse for Children and Named Professional for Adults to develop and implement the safeguarding 'think family' approach.
  • Provide advice, support, and guidance to staff on safeguarding matters, promoting a culture of protection and care.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to enhance safeguarding skills and knowledge among staff.
  • Lead and develop effective multi-agency partnerships to raise awareness of safeguarding issues and promote collaboration.

Requirements
  • Specialist Practitioner qualification in nursing, social work, or allied profession with current registration.
  • Training that demonstrates a commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Significant experience of working with vulnerable families across a range of settings.
  • Extensive experience of involvement in multi-agency safeguarding work with families where there are complex issues.
  • Experience in the development and delivery of training programs.
  • Good knowledge of community care, NHS, and other applicable legislation.
  • Knowledge of current issues affecting safeguarding practice.
  • Ability to confidently challenge practice and support colleagues.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to train and inspire others.
  • Flexible approach to working.
  • Awareness and understanding of supporting equality and valuing diversity in the role.
  • Use of a car or access to a means of mobility to travel across the Trust footprint in line with service needs.
