International Patient Safety Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Patient Safety Manager to join our team at South Central Ambulance Service NHS. As a key member of our Corporate Patient Safety Team, you will play a crucial role in leading high-quality investigations and identifying learning from patient safety incidents across the organization.
As a Patient Safety Manager, you will be responsible for investigating patient safety incidents, ensuring that excellent systems-based investigation takes place to fulfill the Trust's statutory Duty of Candour and external reporting requirements. You will work closely with Service Line Representatives to identify learning and changes in practice that need to occur to prevent or reduce the likelihood of reoccurrence of similar incidents or improve the overall safety and quality of care provided.
Main Duties of the Job- Lead high-quality investigations and identify learning from patient safety incidents
- Work closely with Service Line Representatives to identify learning and changes in practice
- Produce excellent reports that identify learning from incidents and changes in practice required
- Feedback learning identified through investigations to relevant governance groups and Service Line teams
- Establish links to all specialties within the Trust and work with clinical and operational directors to ensure each specialty cooperates and engages with investigations

Person SpecificationWe are looking for a candidate with a degree-level education or equivalent experience, proven experience in undertaking systems-based patient safety investigations, and a working knowledge of NHS complaints management and best practice. The ideal candidate will also have a detailed knowledge of relevant legislation, such as the Data Protection Act and the Freedom of Information Act, and experience of developing, supporting, and motivating individuals and teams in a similar working environment.
