Position Overview

Hours: Flexible, including potential weekend shifts.

Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a proactive Band 7 Clinical Lead to play a pivotal role in the evolution and strategic direction of the Adult Liaison Psychiatry Team in Doncaster.

This developing service is in search of a seasoned and independent practitioner with proven expertise in adult psychiatric liaison care, dedicated to enhancing the quality of care provided.

  • Proficient in risk assessment, formulating risk management strategies, and mentoring colleagues in these areas.
  • Able to provide coverage for the team manager during their absence.
  • Engaged in representing hospital liaison in best interest meetings for patients.
  • Committed to developing and delivering mental health training across the organization.
  • Skilled in managing complex patient care plans within acute settings and conducting regular reviews.

Key Responsibilities

Demonstrate advanced clinical competencies in practice while providing support and advice regarding service and pathway development, collaborating with service users, families, staff, and external agencies across the healthcare system.

Lead and facilitate complex clinical discussions and professional communications that may affect service users, families, staff, and partner organizations, particularly in challenging situations.

Chair and facilitate intricate case reviews, best interest meetings, and multidisciplinary team discussions, often involving various agencies.

Provide specialized advice to multidisciplinary team members concerning the care and treatment of service users.

Supervise team clinicians, ensuring effective caseload management, quality interventions, timely responses, and consistent communication with the multidisciplinary team to aid in case formulation.

Serve as a role model for all staff, ensuring adherence to high standards of care.

Assist the team manager in delivering training and educational initiatives within the healthcare facilities.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Registered Mental Health Nurse.
  • Demonstrable experience and clinical proficiency in managing individuals with acute mental health conditions.
  • Experience in clinical supervision and a willingness to mentor others.

Desirable:

  • Experience in a clinical lead role within an adult mental health setting.
  • Experience in leading reflective learning sessions with team members.

Experience

Essential:

  • Experience in liaison psychiatry.
  • Ability to work across organizational boundaries and foster multi-professional partnerships.
  • Extensive experience in delivering therapeutic interventions.

Desirable:

  • Experience in community mental health services.
