Job Role Overview

As a Subject Matter Expert in Chassis Design and Development, you will play a crucial role in supporting Vehicle Teams in all phases of the design and development process. Your primary objective will be to ensure the robustness of design and efficient test validation to develop the quality of our products and prevent development and in-service quality issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development Support: Provide technical expertise and support to Vehicle Teams in the design and development of Chassis Specialism areas.
  • Design Consistency: Ensure a consistent approach is taken to Chassis design through close coordination with the Chief Engineers and Vehicle Teams.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Coach and mentor junior engineers to broaden the level of understanding within the Department.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously improve design procedures, best practices, and efficiency improvements.
  • Review and Approval: Review and approve procedures, technical reports, specifications, and drawings.
  • Staying Up-to-Date: Keep up to date with the latest developments and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Technology Investigations: Support new technology investigations as required.
  • Deputy Chief Engineer: Deputise for the Chief Engineer Powertrain as required.
  • Project Support: Undertake and assist with projects as required by your manager.
