Job Title: Linux Engineering Lead

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Linux Engineering Lead to join our team at Shared Services Connected Ltd. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for managing incidents, requests, and changes within the Linux team, as well as providing hands-on engineering support and expertise to complex technical activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain mission-critical Linux systems, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Collaborate with the team to design, build, and maintain infrastructure, including virtualization and storage solutions.
  • Develop and maintain user documentation to facilitate knowledge sharing and skills development.
  • Represent the team at key ITIL process touch points, including change advisory boards and problem management.
  • Provide technical leadership and expertise to the team, including root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and technical risk assessments.

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of Linux Operating Systems, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux and derivatives.
  • Experience with Ansible Automation Platform version 2 and Git.
  • Working knowledge of virtualization, including VMware ESXi.
  • Demonstrable experience with Red Hat Satellite 6 and above.
  • Knowledge of Unix storage filesystems and access protocols, including LVM2.

Desirable Skills:

  • Working knowledge of Atlassian tools, including Confluence and Jira.
  • Knowledge of HPE storage technologies, including FC/iSCSI/NFS protocols.
  • RHCSA certification on Red Hat.
