Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team at Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing holistic care and support to patients who have been recalled for assessment, as well as managing junior members of the breast care nursing team.

Main Responsibilities
  • Act as the key worker for breast screening patients who have been recalled for assessment, coordinating their care pathway from assessment through to discharge/diagnosis and referral for further treatment.
  • Provide holistic care and support through counseling, educating, advising, and supporting emotional needs.
  • Manage junior members of the breast care nursing team in the absence of the Lead Clinical Nurse Specialist.
  • Coordinate health promotion both internally and externally.
  • Have a leading role in service improvement and development.
Requirements
  • Proven experience of working in a clinical background, with experience and knowledge of treating Breast Cancer/breast disease and breast screening clients.
  • A first-level degree or working towards this.
  • A specialist qualification in advanced breast care practice.
  • Counseling Skills training and experience.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • The ability to prioritize, work independently as well as within a team.
