About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Duty Coordinator to join our team at Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our mental health services team, you will play a vital role in supporting the clinical and administrative teams in providing high-quality care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Referral Coordination: You will be responsible for triaging referrals entering the service via the IAPT self-referral portal or from other professionals, making clinical decisions about appropriate services, and managing triage referrals.
  • Support and Guidance: You will provide support and guidance to staff with queries regarding triage, treatment, and access to secondary care if required.
  • Administrative Support: You will work closely with the admin team to provide administrative support with client/Duty queries.
  • Risk Assessment and Safeguarding: You will be responsible for recognizing the signs of abuse/safeguarding concerns and taking appropriate action, being aware of statutory and local procedures.
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications and experience:

  • Professional Qualification: A professional qualification in a relevant field, such as RMN, OT, CBT, or Psychology.
  • Experience in Mental Health: Experience working within a multi-disciplinary team, assessing risk, and partnership working both multi-agency and multi-disciplinary.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of assessment applicable to a range of mental health needs, ability to assess risk and identify opportunities for risk mitigation, knowledge of safeguarding and action to take if you suspect an individual is at risk, and knowledge of latest evidence-based practice and NICE guidance.
